The Hutz Group of Companies was founded in the 1970s by German entrepreneur Wolfgang Hutz. As the business grew, so did its vision, evolving from a single focus into a diverse group dedicated to supporting the healthcare industry.
From Entrepreneurial Vision to Diversified Healthcare Solutions
What began with a focus on lighting gradually expanded into specialised divisions serving different areas of healthcare. Today the group includes Hutz Medical, focused on medical device manufacturing; Hutz Hospi-Tec, dedicated to hospital refurbishments and upgrades; and Hutz Engineering, providing engineering expertise to support the sector.
Established in 1999, Hutz Hospi-Tec focuses specifically on hospital projects, upgrades and refurbishments, helping healthcare facilities modernise their environments while maintaining operational continuity.
Proudly South African with a National Footprint
Proudly South African and a Level 2 BBBEE contributor, the company’s head office is based in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), with satellite offices in major city centres including Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town. This national presence allows the team to support healthcare facilities across the country.

Strengthening Leadership with Industry Experience
In 2017, Hutz Hospi-Tec welcomed Dr Jacky Rampedi as a Director. As the founder of the Phelang Bonolo Healthcare Group, established more than 20 years ago, Dr Rampedi brings valuable industry insight and leadership to the company.
